Author Topic: Baking the topo maps with the Batch Tools directly from 3dsMax  (Read 1115 times)

Hi,

As I often needed to bake and rebake the topology maps of the 3D objects I work on and because it always took me a long time to import them in Substance Designer I decided to create a batch script that can be used directly within 3dsMax.
The script is based on the Allegorithmic Batch Tools (https://support.allegorithmic.com/documentation/display/SB10) to generate the maps and on some custom code to create a .sbs referencing them without introducing dependencies to encapsulated graphs.

This script currently answers my needs and I share it for those of you who are looking for something similar or for example code.
At this point the script is not perfect: some bakers are missing and the baking options have not been exposed. This may come in the future, although I cannot say when...

Hello,

Version 0.93 released. Just fixed a bug regarding the AutoUnwrap tool that didn't show up.

To install the new version if you have a previous one on your computer just do a standard install over the old one. It will overwrite it correctly.

Do not hesitate if you have any feedback,

Hello,

Version 0.94 released. Fixed a major bug regarding the output maps: the size and output format were in 8bpc instead of 16bpc!

If you downloaded a previous version you have to upgrade to this one!!
