Indeed Eevee seems promising, but I'm sure the license allows to do anything with it.

Yes for a blender plugin ! tweaking and animate substance parameter with eevee would be really nice

I've seen other posts about why the Blender Open Source "GNU General Public License" makes it difficult to work with them.  Basically you need to make your code, or at least some key parts of it, freely available too.  True?

There is a lot of artists who would love to see eevee plugin from Allegorithmic. Including me. But I think blenders GPL licensing prevents closed source integration and I don't think Allegorithmic would give source code for substance player.
