Author Topic: Substance is clipping dark textures in Max  (Read 96 times)

Started to notice that when I inputted a dark texture into a simple substance that is input straight to output, the dark values would start to get clipped. Bellow are images of the graph and the different scenarios I tested.

Left is the Original image I tried to run through the substance graph. The middle is the render to texture in Max of the results of that substance graph. Notice how it clipped significantly the darker shades of black. The image on the right, is when I applied the same image to the output in substance designer and rendered the results in Max. Not sure what is going on and how I can prevent this from happening.




Anyone have any ideas?

Figured it out, it was an issue with the gamma inside max.
