Make sure both version shave the same UV layout, it's likely not the case. That or your textures are flipped in 3ds max.

If you have very small features with very sharp edges, unfortunately that's unavoidable at the moment.

It can only work with a baked normal at the moment.

You cannot change the properties of something you've manually painted after the fact. What you can od is craete a fill layer, and a mask, and paint on the mask to reveal the content of the fill layer instead. That fill layer's properties can be edited at any time afterwards.

It should be as simple as adding an Opacity channel to your texture set, using the opacity shader and exporting. Have you tried using the alpha-test shader?
I remember AR Quick Look and ARKit having some bugs when it comes to transparency though, this could be the issue here.
Would you be able to send over your project or resulting USDZ file?
